Gerber CA Boy Gets Crushed in Tehama County Car Accident

A 7-year old Gerber boy tragically lost his life in a Tehama car accident that took place on Truckee Avenue, east of Interstate 5, around 7 p.m. on March 15, 2010.

The deceased, Mario Gonzalez, was run over by a trailer that was being towed by his father. Reportedly, he crawled out of the truck cab’s sliding window, fell down, and was crushed beneath the trailer as his father moved forward. The child was declared dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Our office wishes to offer our heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family of the young boy. It must be very traumatic for them, and more so for the father. Driving with a child on board should be taken very seriously and constant attention must be paid to the child.
